So I reached a milestone

I should feel elated
be happy
and "chuffed"
but I am not
because I realised
long ago
that life is a journey
it will take us
wherever we
wish to be
I also learned
that it
is no use
rushing ahead
blindly
as if we know
where we are
going
We do have
a choice
we can create
our life
we can shape
our destiny
How we get
there
is entirely
up to us
If we are scared
to explore
new possibilities
try new
things
we will stagnate
and stall
it takes
courage to leave
a well paying
career
and you often
rue that decision
but time teaches
you
there is more
you can achieve more
you can do more
those who dare
those who share
those
who care
find out
that the possibilities
are infinite'
Madiba sat in jail
for 27 years
he is old
and his life
is coming to
an end
or is it?
Many years from
now
he will still be
remembered
for his
humbleness
for his conviction
for his
forgiving nature
and yes
he will
be remembered
for his struggle.
so I shall take
passing each milestone
without fanfare
it is not my
destination
it is just a marker
Peace and love be with you
my dear brothers
and sisters
may your journey
take you
to fulfilment
to joy

 My Lovely

What is your number
A female colonist wrote
asking how many
did you bed
in your lifetime
Most men will lie
and add a few
women too
will subtract a few
three digits
that is all I shall tell

You talk like Marlene Dietrich

And you dance like Zizi Jeanmaire

Your clothes are all made by Balmain

And there’s diamonds and pearls in your hair, yes there are.

The youngest my first
just 14 me only 17
"Brown girl in the rain...."
her favourite song

You live in a fancy apartment

Off the Boulevard of St. Michel

Where you keep your Rolling Stones records

And a friend of Sacha Distel, yes you do.
The oldest 57 me 30
Duelling banjo's
B and O Hi Fi
Chandeliers
World wise
socialite

You go to the embassy parties

Where you talk in Russian and Greek

And the young men who move in your circles

They hang on every word you speak, yes they do.
Red Wine

My first commitment
Blond bombshell
both journalists
Married naked
under a waterfall
eloped
my first child
ran off
with a younger man
after 9 years

But where do you go to my lovely

When you're alone in your bed

Tell me the thoughts that surround you

I want to look inside your head, yes i do.

My second commitment
First rugby world cup win
brown Beauty
adventure
soul mate
my second child
still going
after 17 years

 I've seen all your qualifications

 You got from the Sorbonne

And the painting you stole from Picasso

Your loveliness goes on and on, yes it does.

My first share
she 16 me 43
Passion
adventure
two loves
found a man to marry
after 6 years

When you go on your summer vacation

 You go to Juan-les-Pines

With your carefully designed topless swimsuit

You get an even suntan, on your back and on your legs.

And when the snow falls you're found in St. Moritz

With the others of the jet-set

And you sip your Napoleon Brandy

But you never get your lips wet, no you don't.

My first true love
both 18
She "Tweety"
me "Daddt"
"Glass houses" Billy Joel
"my" "first" child
Quimby
yes I know
Christina
one day she
will call me Daddy
disappeared
when I was
doing Military duty

But where do you go to my lovely

When you're alone in your bed

would you Tell me the thoughts that surround you

I want to look inside your head, yes I do.

My first prostitute
Swazi
Hillbrow
Two roasted Chicken's
dropped her
at Swaziland Border

 You're in between 20 and 30

 A very desirable age

Your body is firm and inviting

But you live on a glittering stage, yes you do, yes you do.

My first Cheat
bosses Wife
older than me
She lured me with honey
I fell like a bee
and confession
guilt

Your name is heard in high places

 You know the Aga Khan

He sent you a racehorse for Christmas

And you keep it just for fun, for a laugh ha-ha-ha

First night stand
Irish and crazy
Moved in
Moved out

They say that when you get married

 It'll be to a millionaire

But they don't realize where you came from

And I wonder if they really care, or give a damn

My first threesome
Maybe foursome
they young
me mature
they all
loved me
Me a glutton
insatiable
strawberries and cream

But where do you go to my lovely

When you're alone in your bed

Tell me the thoughts that surround you

I want to look inside your head, yes i do.

My first Intrusion
I raided
"Die Koek Blik"
scaled the walls
ended in her bed

never got caught

I remember the back streets of Naples

 Two children begging in rags

Both touched with a burning ambition

To shake off their lowly brown tags, they try

With your carefully designed topless swimsuit

You get an even suntan, on your back and on your legs.

My first deceit
I am a child
she experienced
should have known better
hurt bad

My heart broken
Best time ever
nude on the beach
she left to buy me
a Christmas present
I left after she died
in a car crash
And when the snow falls you're found in St. Moritz
With the others of the jet-set
And you sip your Napoleon Brandy
But you never get your lips wet, no you don't.
I get invaded
a Hotel in Cape Town
woke up with
a warm mouth
down south

Your name is heard in high places
 You know the Aga Khan
He sent you a racehorse for Christmas
And you keep it just for fun, for a laugh ha-ha-ha
I repay kindness
And fulfil
her wildest fantasy
giving is always
pleasurable
No my friends I am not bragging
I remember all their names
or names they gave themselves
I shared my body and my passion
and lost a little bit
of myself
every time
It enriched my life
and made me poorer
I hurt many
with my wild ways
and drunken tirades
Not once did I rape
Not once did I
brutalise
I understand
the Song of Solomon
I understand
the way of a dove
and the motion
of a snake
They say I know a lot
that I am intelligent
and yes I do

I know where you go to my lovely
When you're alone in your bed
I know the thoughts that surround you
`Cause I can look inside your head.
Love and peace be with you
my lovelies
forever
Amen

 A Spade

Political correctness

is a communist plot

Calling a spade

a shovel since 1835

the wokas

comrades

tenderpreneurs

economic freedom fighters

and all of them

sipping whisky
and champagne
communisme
A French word
Now it is
part of our landscape
Laddies of the night
the oldest profession
whores
hoes
or sex workers
 Like a bandit she lies
 in wait and multiplies
the unfaithful among men
is what the bible
says about them
Our "Democracy"
allows abortion
promotes "safe" sex
allows children
to sue their parents
treats criminals
better than citizens
The difference is
the high percentage
of staunch communists
warming parliamentary seats
yet if they
stood as a party
they will amount
to very little
I don't want
to talk politics
that is not my "thing"
I see a society
that has lost
it's values
it's morals
that wants to
sugar coat
all ills
with fancy words
politically correct words
That corrupts
the youth
Theft becomes
taking
Assault becomes
protecting oneself
Rape
is loving her
A King
that smokes pot
is living the natural way
Cannabis
Tetrahydrocannibanol
is addictive
and a killer
period
That is why it
is prohibited
it is dangerous
We know
we "lost"
our Son
through this "Herb"
Now these
"Wise" men
want to legalise it
Ask South Koreans
how social
North Korea is
They even flee to China
to escape the
oppression
of the communists
The ideals
of Karl Marx
fails every time
all across
the globe
and yet
the masses
finds its
promises of shared
wealth alluring
in the end
only a few are
equally wealthy
and the rest
starve
"Some of my
best friends
are communists"
is as hollow a statement
as
"Some of my best
friends are black"
The point is
my dear friends
is that
what the struggle
was about?
to capitulate
capitalism
and replace
it with
socialism?
You be
the judge
I hate Politics
I am
a humanitarian
peace and
love be with you
mu brothers and sisters
forever
amen
doulos

 Long Liver

Our Sangoma in Chief
Is right Alcohol is
a killer

when abused

He is wrong
that banning
advertising
will curb alcohol abuse
lessons could be
learnt
from the failed
prohibition
in Europe
and in America
I want to
suggest
a self-help
rehab drive
I now Rehab works
booked myself in
stayed dry
for three years
The stigma
attached to rehab
and the fear
of being labelled
Hi I am John
I am an alcoholic
sends shivers
down my spine
it can be beaten
it can be overcome
If you have the will
and by the
Grace of God
you can live
a normal life
without
being a victim
Lost two
friends
directly through
alcohol
They literally
drank themselves
to death
We know the causes
we know the symptoms
we know the cure
Rehab is expensive
and not always
successful
So Minister
and I say it
with due respect
Why not teach
people how to cope
and give them
a roadmap
to a self-help
solution
just saying
peace be with you
my brothers and sisters
may this scourge
never touch
you or your
loved ones
Amen

 For Keeps

Three incidents
A drunk, a druggie
and a thief
in a space of two weeks.
made me realise
once more
people do not care
beyond their own needs
Firstly a innocent
four year old girl's
last words
"I will be  the Ouma
and will die today
and you must cry."
came true
when a car hit
her on the sidewalk,
where she was playing
The driver raced
away but was
caught
He was so drugged
he di not
realise he killed
an innocent child.
Then Yesterday ,
working on my
computer .I heard
a loud bang and
the power was cut
I found the cable thief
sitting on the pavement
with sever burs
surrounded by an
angry crowd
tormenting him.
I do not think he
survived
Then last night
a loud bang
Three cars
involved in an
accident
in our street
The guilty party
a young guy
drunk out of his skull
disappeared
During all of these
incidents
more than one
race group
were involved
and the gawking
crowd
was mixed as well
yet nobody really
cared or tried
to give
meaningful assistance
Some individuals
tried to help
and then
left.
it was not really
their problem
Though the perpetrators
were not
 the
cream of society
The victims
and themselves
were all human
just like you and me
We judge
we fret
and then
we walk away
carrying on
with our lives
and Sunday
we go to Church
we are good people
Those three
were guilty period
and will probably get
what  they "deserved"
death and Jail time
Who am I my
brother and sister
to judge
can we throw
the first stone
with a clear conscience?
have we sacrificed
our Humanity
at the altar
of selfishness?
Tough Questions
no easy answers
irrespective  of
our race, sex
ethnicity or culture
do we still care
about our neighbour
could we love
our neighbour
irrespective of
their social status?
I count myself in
into the We I am
writing about
Then I think
of Agape
and I stand
ashamed
I Thank
the Almighty
for Grace and Mercy
and I pray
to be granted a grain
of compassion
for my fellow man
lest I am
the one involved
peace and love be with you
my brothers and sisters
Forever
Amen

Terra Firma Fish

 Remember Lucky Sindane?
He was the "white boy" who
believed he was abducted
 by black people.
Lately there are a lot
of stories in the media
about white folk
in black Townships.
In Mamelodi, In Hilbrow
and in Alexandria,
where our Pres., handed a
RDP house to a white family.
You may well ask
why the hype?
Can a black family
adopt a white baby?
Will the child be Ok?
Our societies
still suffer from
severe prejudice
and blatant racism
We still stereotype
race every day
I shall be jubilant
the day that
all people
can live freely
wherever they choose
Am I a hypocrite
suffering a guilt attack
because I
"supported" Apartheid?
I was once accused
of that by
a radio personality
who turned out
to be
one of SA,s worst
racists.
This is however
not about me.
I am the fat
dude with unkempt
hair holding
the little
black girl
This is a
complex issue
with no easy answers
when Mandela
walked free
I moved into
a flat in
Reiger Park
and stayed there
for two years
and there
were others
with the same
pigmentation as me
who did the same
White trash?
I hear some say.
Well my friend
I dined with Presidents
I hob knobbed
with the cream
of society
by virtue
of my chosen
profession
many moons ago
So I may be
"White" trash
in your estimation
That is not the point
The point is
You can only
know a people
If you live
intimately with them
when you suffer
the same injustice
and the
same depraved
environment
that they are
forced to endure
So I list my hat
to those brave
families who
practice what
they preach
They follow
in the Revolutionary's
footsteps
They follow
in the footsteps
of Jesus
"Blasphemy'! I
hear the outcry
Yes my dear friend
in His day
he was a Revolutionary
 Viva  Comrade
Jesus, Viva!
Long live!
Go read
"Die Boer
 in die Kasie"
elsewhere
 on this blog
and  you shall
know fist hand
that I walk
my talk
Viva
Peace and love be with you
my brothers and sisters
Forever
Amen

 Digging deep

Read a story this morning
about illegal Zimbabwean miners dying
in an old mineshaft
in Primrose .
I was late to get
Krissmonne to school
it was bitterly cold
and nostalgia struck.
a mother and two
little children
walking to the
station in Dunottar
A place thus described
by Google
"A populated place"
It was bitterly cold
we were freezing and
yet it was not the
end of the yourney
Caught a bus at
Dunottar station
to Nigel Station
The railway line between Springs, Nigel and Heidelberg was opened on 18 October 1935. Until then, the nearest railway station had been Kaydale; situated five miles from Nigel on the main line between Johannesburg and Durban, and all transport had been conducted by ox wagon, horses or cars.
Then on to Heidelberg Station
And then the walk
to town, where Mom
worked at a Dairy.
The final leg was
with a three wheeled
milk delivery bicycle
First stop the military base
The delivery man
knew the chef who would give
me coffee to
warm my half frozen hands.
He would then drop me
at school.
Here I am taking my child
to school in an
air-conditioned SUV
Mine and stations
part of our lives
it seems

In 1888 the State President Paul Kruger declared Nigel as a public digging under notice no. 331 and since then the history and development of Nigel are inseparable from those of the gold mines. The town was little more than a mining camp until 1923, when the control of the town was passed into the hands of a Dorpvillage. The first meeting of this council was held on 2 January 1923. The Sub Nigel mine had, in the meanwhile, come into existence and proved to be the riches gold mine in the world
The Afrikaner in
South Africa knows both
and intimately so
The poor Afrikaner
was uplifted by
the Railways and Mines
Notwithstanding History
They survived and still do.
Yes we were poor those days
My Father died young
and because the Church
he served, did not provide a pension,
we were left to our own devices.
That is altogether another story.
so why Am I
writing this?
Again Gold features
Uncle Bob abuses his people
they flee to South Africa
and dig up old
mineshafts to survive.
Transnet replaced the
Old South African Railways
and they are a major employer.
The Mining Industry
is targeted by Unions
for redistribution
and EFF vows to
hasten the process.

We the people
rich and poor alike
need to stand up
and refuse to be undermined
and oppressed by a few
who control the purse strings
or surely this country
will sink back
into the muddy waters
of our past.
Yes it is cold my
fingers are stiff from it
and I struggle to
tap my keyboard.
I do not forget the past
but I live for the future.
There are enough  riches
underground and enough
infrastructure above ground
there is enough goodwill
and enough innovation
in our diverse population
to make South Africa
 a huge success
A place where all can
live freely and safely
if only we
have the will.
ask Madiba
before it is too late
and he shall agree.
let us not forget
what brought us
to this day
and build on it.
our Actions will
lead the way.
Peace and love be with you
my brothers and sisters
Forever
Amen

Bo(y)(ooi)

 So the Royal "pom"boy
was born
Heaven forbids that
we must hear
and see every sordid
detail.
From his first fart,
and who knows
about the future
of the royal foreskin.
in Africa these little
things
like foreskins
matters
As you can see
I am not a British fan
being Afrikaans and all

Eventually, there were a total of 45 tented camps built for Boer internees and 64 for black Africans. Of the 28,000 Boer men captured as prisoners of war, 25,630 were sent overseas. The vast majority of Boers remaining in the local camps were women and children. Over 26,000 women and children were to perish in these concentration camps.
The above says enough
Is it politically correct
to call him a boy
at all
it could be construed
for something
that sounds familiar
Booi
Now if you live in Safrica
you will know
to evade that word like
the Rinderpest
The garden person
is sometimes called
the gardenb....
in less "civilised"
households
It irks me
that thousands of babies
are aborted even
as I write this
Thousands are
suffering malnutrition
and this little blighter
"who fell with his
little royal backside
in the proverbial butter"
is made a fuss  off.
If Camilla was one of
the first people I had to
see in my life
I could not be blamed
for having psychological
problems in later life.
Imagine calling her Granny
As for the little
 royal foreskin
will it make Sotheby's
when it gets
the chop
or will it stay
intact
My British friends
must pardon my Bias
and "hate speech"
it is not
intentional
it is hereditary
Some of my best friends
are Royalty : )))
even if they smoke pot.
I am not as bad
as Uncle Bob
up North
who imagines
 invading
that pesky little Island
I mean ,Broadly speaking
they are Poor on Manners,
Gentlemen they certainly
are not, Out is Out
and finish and klaar
On a serious note
my heart goes out
to the millions
of babies on African soil
that are born into poverty
sometimes amidst war
who have a bleak future
if any future at all
let us pray my
brothers and sisters
 that those less fortunate
babies across the globe
will find mercy and love
and nutrition
Let us stand up
and do something
about it
peace and love be with  you
my brothers and sisters
Forever
Amen.

First

 Surrealist Photography by Katerina Bodrunova

So Vavi tripped over
his penis.
So did King David
and King Solomon
and many men
throughout history
they succumb
to the lure
of the forbidden
Once you cross
"the Line"
it seems that
everything is possible
Once you cut
the strings of your
conscience
and "set it free"
it arrests you
and traps you
in a space
where you perish
What if ?
Adam and eve
did not sin
God dwelled
with them
in paradise
and their nudity
was undiscovered
in their
innocence
Did they do IT?
probably
we were
created that way
It was disobedience
not sex
that tripped them
ever since then
mankind
frowned on nudity
and "sex"
became the
ultimate "sin"
yet we marry
we procreate
as we were
hardwired
to do
If your "conscience"
allows you
you may have
more than one
partner
Some churches
justify it
and even
advocate it
and they use
the Bible
as their reference
we were meant
to love
we were created
that way
we confuse love
with a feeling
we succumb
to dopamine
addiction
it feels good
it makes us
feel good
and then
we rue it
We ,man ,woman
and child
belong to God
who will fetch his
"Bride," us
that also goes
for the alternative
"genders"
I believe
it is all
spiritual
the day that
our earthly body
perishes
we become
truly free
spiritually free
and we can
finally attain
peace
Live in love
Love God
your neighbour
and yourself
it will set
you free
and detach you
from your sex
organ
Love and peace be
with you my brothers and sisters
forever
Amen

Ramkiki

Op my ou ramkiekie met nog net een snaar
speel ek in die maanskyn deurmekaar
As die maan my aanhoor en die sterre knik
dan speel ek kordaat voort in my skik

Wat gee ek om mense wat sê ek's mal
as die varings my aanhoor by die wal?

Wat om my vrinde wat nooit nie verstaan
as die sterre my toeknik en die maan?

Op my ou ramkiekie met nog net een snaar
speel ek in die maanskyn deurmekaar

Yes I must be a bit crazy
(so I shall write Afglikaans.)
Always was
will always be.
I was different
and though
I am a Volbloed Afrikaner
I never took part in Volkspele
I hardly read Afrikaans books,
Unless the school required it
My Interests were
different to that
of most of my friends
Was never interested
in politics
Some called me a rebel
die swartskaap
van die familie
n probleemkind
I dared to be different
I still am
So they say
I am a Loose canon
do not be fooled
my friend
This Canon is
firmly anchored
and shoots straight
and accurately
I do not care
what people "think"
about me
or even if they think
about me at all
I was mostly a loner
had few real friends
had more female friends
than males
I do not fit the
Macho Image
but do not mess
with me
or you shall
find out
I am as hard as nails
I am as soft as chalk
I am as sharp as a needle
and as blunt as a mallet
Those who tried
to mess with me failed
because they cannot
fathom me
Why am I writing this?
I am tired of
emotional blackmail
period
May love and peace
be with you my
brothers and sisters
Forever
